However, I'm pretty sure some market analysts at Chrysler ran all the numbers and found that having it non-standard, with a $700 option cost (or ~$550 dealer activated cost) yields the most profit. It should be standard on every 8.4 honestly, even if that meant a slightly higher base 8.4 cost. ![]() ![]() It's frankly ridiculous that GPS is an option on a $60,000 car like the Hellcat. Some garmin headunits can be had for well under $1200 as well.Įvery Chrysler 8.4 car comes the GPS hardware and software in it already. You're paying for the GPS hardware, the screen, all the chips inside, all the software, the MP3 decoder licenses, etc. Where that comparison between an aftermarket headunit and the factory GPS option breaks down, is the fact that with the aftermarket head unit, you're paying for the physical unit. ![]()
